Important Medicines To Have At Home With A Newborn

This blog post is for those new mamas and mamas-to-be! I know you’re probably trying to get everything ready to bring your little one home and you might be wondering what medicine you want to have on hand those first few months. These are the three meds I used during those first four months with Mackenzie and I found them so helpful to have at home! I also carried around them in my diaper bag incase we were out and needed them!

**Always consult your pediatrician when giving your little one any type of medicine, but these are the three that worked wonders for us during the newborn stage!

Amazon.com: Little Remedies Gripe Water-No Alcohol, Sodium Bicarbonate, Artificial Color & Gluten Free-Safe for Newborns, 4 Fl. Oz (Pack of 1) : Hourglass: Baby
  • Gripe Water– Gripe water somehow miraculously takes away hiccups! I’d say it worked 9 out of 10 times for us and let me tell you, infants get hiccups A LOT (I’m talking multiple times a day!) This also works for gas and colic.
Amazon.com: Infants' Tylenol Acetaminophen Liquid Medicine, Cherry, 2 fl. oz : Health & Household
  • Infant Tylenol– This is important to have on hand in case your little one spikes a fever. Your pediatrician will give you correct dosage at your check ups.
Amazon.com: Mylicon Gas Relief Drops for Infants and Babies, Original Formula, 0.5 Fluid Ounce : Everything Else
  • Mylicon– We experienced a lot of discomfort with gas and this is especially helpful!
MediFrida the ACCU-DOSE PACIFIER – Frida | The fuss stops here.

Some of you may be asking how I was able to give a newborn these meds and this medicine dispenser & pacifier was a life saver! We did have to start giving Mackenzie medicine for reflux at 2 months old and this saved us then too!

Let me know below what medicines were helpful to have at home for your little one!
