How We’re Prepping Our Daughter for Baby Brother’s Arrival
We are preparing to welcome a new addition to our family & since Mackenzie is currently an only child we are doing our best to get her ready for her baby brother’s arrival. This is definitely not my area of expertise, but I’m hoping some of the things we are doing now will help when he’s actually here (I’ll do another post once he’s here about what’s working & what didn’t work so great!) Books- we have a few books that we are reading with Mackenzie that will help her understand that a new baby is coming! The Baby is Here! (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood) You’re a Big Sister (here’s the…

Here’s My List of Everything We Need for Baby #2!
We plan to reuse most of the “big stuff” we already have, but there are some things we’ll have to buy new. Here’s my list of everything we plan to reuse: – halo bassinest (We really liked this when we used it with Mackenzie. It sat right next to my side of the bed & the arm went down so it was easy to get her in & out) – doona car seat/stroller (this was an investment, but probably one of my favorite baby items we used with Mackenzie) – nuna car seat (we also had this one so we could use it with our stroller base. once the Doona…

The Importance of a Bedtime Routine for My Toddler
Kids thrive on routine, so it’s no surprise that a bedtime routine would be super helpful. We have been implementing some form of a bedtime routine since Mackenzie was just a couple of months old. It has changed over time, but there has always been a routine in place. When she was just a few months old her routine looked like this: bath time, overnight diaper, pjs, swaddle, feeding, read a book, & put her down. Then it changed to this routine around 5 months old when we began sleep training: bath time (every other night), overnight diaper, pjs, sleep sack, read a book, & put her down. Currently her…

Brand Highlight: Why I Love Little Sleepies!
It’s no secret that we love Little Sleepies pajamas in this house! If Mackenzie isn’t wearing a matching sweatsuit, she’s likely wearing a Little Sleepies zipper onesie (they make up 90 percent of her pajama drawer)! Here are just a few reasons why we love Little Sleepies: + they’re bamboo so they’re extremely soft and great for sensitive skin + the zipper pjs have hand and foot cuffs that can be folded over to cover hands and feet to keep them warm. I love the hand cuffs for when they’re small so you don’t have to worry about mittens staying on. At 17 months, I still love using the foot…

Overrated Baby Products
I asked on instagram a few weeks back for your most overrated baby item and I’m sharing them below! If you’re currently pregnant and looking at baby things you’ll need once baby arrives, check out this list for some things you may NOT need to get: *Before I go into why I think these products are overrated, I should note that some items that are unnecessary to some, may be “must haves” for others. Swing- Some babies love a swing and some babies absolutely hate it. This is definitely a hit-or-miss baby product for sure. Boudreaux’s Butt Paste- I so wanted to love this diaper cream, but it’s so greasy…

Brand Highlight: Why I Love Oxo Tot
I love that oxo tot has such a wide variety of items that you can use for your baby/toddler! Some of the items below are our most used items: On-The-Go Fork and Spoon– I love this set for my diaper bag since it keeps the utensils clean and together in the case. Space Saving Drying Rack– This is such a great drying rack if you don’t have a ton of counter space. For a small drying rack, it can surprisingly hold a lot! Diaper caddy with changing mat– This is great to store all you need for baby’s diaper changing. I also love that it comes with it’s own mat…

How To Keep Your Diaper Bag Organized
My house may not always be organized and neat, but you better believe my diaper bag is! I have a few tricks to keep it organized. Some things I can’t live with out that help me keep my bag organized are the Alvababy wet/dry bags & Bumkins waterpoof bags. The first bag holds everything I would need for diapering. I keep extra diapers, a changing pad, wipes, diaper cream, diaper cream applicator brush, & Munchkin dirty diaper bags. The next bag is an Alvababy wet/dry bag that holds extra clothing. I keep a change of clothes in here with socks, a hat, and a 5-in-1 multi use cover (right now…

This blog post is for those new mamas and mamas-to-be! I know you’re probably trying to get everything ready to bring your little one home and you might be wondering what medicine you want to have on hand those first few months. These are the three meds I used during those first four months with Mackenzie and I found them so helpful to have at home! I also carried around them in my diaper bag incase we were out and needed them! **Always consult your pediatrician when giving your little one any type of medicine, but these are the three that worked wonders for us during the newborn stage! Gripe…
