    How We Created A Purposeful Play Area for Our Toddler

    We don’t have a designated playroom on the main floor of our house, so we created a section of our dining room (which rarely gets used) for Mackenzie’s toys. When she was a baby we just had out a plush floor mat with toys, but as she got older I could see all of her stuff slowly taking over the rest of our dining room. I wanted to create a more purposeful place for her to play. Since she’s not a baby anymore we don’t necessarily need a big floor mat for her to play on.     I can speak for myself when I say I need to do a better job of incorporating non-screen time activities into our day!     Setting Up My Daughter’s Play Area For Successful Play

    One day I looked at over at my daughter’s play area on the main floor and became extremely overwhelmed. I’m only sharing this picture with you because it’s reality. Yes, I’m even embarrassed it got to this point, but it did and now I’m determined to fix it!
