Making the Difficult Decision to Postpone our Vacation

We did not spend this past week anything like we had planned. We were excited to finally go on vacation somewhere warm and get a break from all this dreary weather at home on the East Coast. Unfortunately, thanks to Covid (more specifically the Omnicron variant) we decided to postpone our trip to Costa Rica. Unfortunately these are the times we are currently living in and we had to make some last minute changes to our plans because the Omnicron variant is so contagious and I was worried about traveling with an unvaccinated toddler (she’s only 18 months old). Had it not been for this latest spike and super contagious…

Caring for a Sick Toddler During a Pandemic

Having your child get sick can be some of the scariest days you’ll experience as a parent. You feel helpless not knowing exactly what your child needs from you. Seeing them in pain makes your heart hurt. Being in a pandemic adds a whole other layer to worrying about your child when they’re sick. Right now the Omnicron varient of COVID is super contagious & spiking like crazy and testing is nearly impossible, so not knowing if it’s COVID or not can be so worrisome. Mackenzie has gotten sick only a couple of times in her 18 months of life. Each time it’s been either a little runny nose or…

Activities to do with Your Child During A Global Pandemic

These are the three activities I’ve found for Mackenzie and felt safe doing during the pandemic. I really wanted to get her around other children and since she’s not in daycare I wanted to find some classes where she could spend some time with other children. + Music class was our first class and we started out on Zoom, but when it was nice enough outside, we began outdoor classes and felt safe doing this! Mackenzie loves music so she enjoyed music class and I look forward to starting them again soon! I love that Music Together is a worldwide program so you can look for a program in your…

Non Screen Time Activities to do with Your Toddler

I can speak for myself when I say I need to do a better job of incorporating non-screen time activities into our day! When I feel tired or have a headache, its just so easy to turn on Coco Melon and let her watch it! I want to build a list of activities I can do with her instead of putting on Coco Melon and figured I’d share my ideas with you below: + While I think Mackenzie is too young for a tonies box right now, I do think it’s a great activity to incorporate music & stories into your child’s day without putting on a screen for them!…

Great Ways to Stay Connected During a Pandemic

Staying in touch with family and friends has been at the forefront for me since the pandemic began. I wanted to find a way to share all of the pictures I have taken of our new little love with family and friends, even if I can’t see them in person for months! Pictures run in my blood (my poppee was a photographer and my mom lives for taking a million photos) so naturally my camera roll on my phone is FILLED with so many pictures, so I wanted to find ways to share these with those closest to me! I wanted to share all the ways we’ve been able to…

What Happens When Mom Doesn’t Take Care of Herself

As a mom we often get caught up in making sure everything gets done (dishes, laundry, work stuff, to-do lists, etc) and we end up neglecting ourselves. I did this a week ago and ended up feeling so sick that I was nervous I had COVID (getting sick during a pandemic can be scary)! I started to have symptoms (sore throat, cough, lower back pain) that could have meant I had COVID, so I went and got a rapid test that night and it came back in a few hours and it was negative (thank g-d). I still wasn’t convinced so the next morning my husband and I got PCR…
