Non Screen Time Activities to do with Your Toddler

I can speak for myself when I say I need to do a better job of incorporating non-screen time activities into our day! When I feel tired or have a headache, its just so easy to turn on Coco Melon and let her watch it!

I want to build a list of activities I can do with her instead of putting on Coco Melon and figured I’d share my ideas with you below:

+ While I think Mackenzie is too young for a tonies box right now, I do think it’s a great activity to incorporate music & stories into your child’s day without putting on a screen for them! We just got it for our friend’s son and I can’t wait to hear their thoughts on it! You also don’t need wifi to use it other than initial set up so it can be used just about anywhere!

+ Making play dough & playing with it can be two separate activities: store you’re homemade play dough in a ziplock bag or container and take it out the next time you need an activity to for your little one.

+ DIY Sensory Bags: I love the idea of homemade sensory bags & bins! There are so many ideas if you search on google or Pinterest. I’ve already started to collect some supplies like gel, pompoms, and a bin for sensory materials. There are so many options for neat or messy sensory play!

+ GET OUTSIDE: fresh air can do wonders for your little one!

+ Pikler: this is great for gross motor play & can really wear your little one out.

+ Set up an obstacle course: Use whatever you have around the house or in their playrooms. You can incorporate a pikler, nugget, stepping stones, tunnel, and so much more! You can also look at Pinterest for some more ideas!

These are just some ideas, but let me know what your favorite non-screen time activities are below!
