How To Throw An Ice Cream Themed Birthday Party!

My daughter turned three & we threw her an ice cream themed birthday party! I broke it all down for you below incase you want to throw one too! We’ve been doing backyard birthday parties for her for three years now & I love taking a theme & putting together a party! Last year we did a fruit themed party & I’ll link all details here.  Invitations: I bought & downloaded this template off of Etsy & then sent it out via paperless post! It feels like no one is mailing paper invitations these days (although I love a paper invite), so this just made the most sense!  Party decor:…

My Top 5 Favorites from March and April 2023

Sharing my top five favorites from March and April (in no particular order): Kizik Sneakers: These are my favorite sneakers, especially right now while I’m pregnant. I don’t have to bend down to put them on & they’re also super comfortable. These are definitely one of my top recommendations to anyone who is pregnant, but they are also great shoes even if you’re not pregnant. I plan on getting a new pair soon because I love them so much! Amazon Winter Coat: I know this has been a very popular coat for a few years on Amazon, but this winter I finally got it since I was pregnant. There are…

How We’re Prepping Our Daughter for Baby Brother’s Arrival

We are preparing to welcome a new addition to our family & since Mackenzie is currently an only child we are doing our best to get her ready for her baby brother’s arrival. This is definitely not my area of expertise, but I’m hoping some of the things we are doing now will help when he’s actually here (I’ll do another post once he’s here about what’s working & what didn’t work so great!) Books- we have a few books that we are reading with Mackenzie that will help her understand that a new baby is coming! The Baby is Here! (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood) You’re a Big Sister (here’s the…

Transitioning our Toddler from Nap Time to Rest Time

I’m going to share below how we’re transitioning our daughter from nap time to rest time (sometimes called quiet time). I’m definitely no expert, just trying different things out to see what works best for Mackenzie as we make this big change in her schedule. She’s just over 2.5 years old and I truly think she’s a little young to drop her nap, but nap time was becoming a stressful time for all involved. She would just lay in her crib shouting for me. I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant & I just couldn’t handle nap time the way it was going any longer. While I think she’s a little young…

    Semi-Homemade Valentine’s Day Cards

We love to send Valentine’s to family & friends so this year I went to Michaels to see what I could find. I got pretty lucky since I went early January & they had a pretty good selection. (While this post may sound sponsored by Michaels, I promise you it’s not!) What I bought: – A pack of 24 cards & envelopes – stampers – washable glitter paint – heart stickers – printed 3×3 pictures from Koala Prints (only because I needed a 3×3 print for another craft, I would have just printed a wallet sized photo or a 4×6) Other things I needed: – toilet paper or paper towel…

Everything We Have to Get Our Two Year Old Out on The Ski Hill

Base Layers- REI Base Layer Top & REI Base Layer Pants (super soft & stretchy material) Patagonia Base Layer Top & Patagonia Base Layer Pants Mid Layers- LL Bean Fleece Long Sleeve Shirt & Pants Spyder Quarter Zip Socks– We went with Euro socks because they aren’t made of wool & Mackenzie has very sensitive skin & these are very soft! 4XXXX Small is perfect for her & will probably last a couple of seasons. Bibs- They’re expensive but, I like these bibs because they are adjustable & we’ve gotten 2 seasons so far out of them! Coat– This is very similar to the coat Mackenzie is wearing now. This…

Everything We Have At Home To Potty Train Our Toddler

Even though we’ve hit the pause button on potty training for right now, I wanted to share all the things we have at home to help expose her & eventually use when the time comes. Potty seat (either one for the big toilet or a small potty that sits on the floor)- depending on how many toilets you have in your house, you many want to get more than one so when you’re in the thick of potty training you always have one somewhat near by. We have a few different ones: Pull-Ups- Some people have different opinions on using pull-ups while potty training, but I think before potty training…

How to Increase Independent Play in Toddlers

Mackenzie is 2.5 years old & she’s just starting to play independently. I wanted to share some of my tips that’s I’ve been using over the past few months. She also started school back in September & I also think this has helped dramatically. These are just a few ideas to help your little one play more independently!
