What You Need For Back To School: Nursery/Preschool Edition
This is going to be Mackenzie’s first year in school & I’ve spent August buying a lot of stuff for her! Since she’s only going to nursery school I didn’t buy a lot of your typical school supplies, but I’ll share what I did buy. Mackenzie is going to school for the morning & will be having lunch there so I needed to buy her stuff for that, but she won’t be napping there so I didn’t need to buy any nap stuff.
+ backpack– Mackenzie picked out her backpack & my number 1 tip is DO NOT put your child’s name on the outside of their backpack for safety reasons
+ lunch box– I bought this lunch box because it fits her biggest bento box & will fit all of her other bento boxes too. It also has tons of pockets & I love that I’m supporting a small business 🙂
+ bento boxes- we have a few different ones. This Austin Baby Co fully silicone bento box is definitely the biggest. This Bentgo one has an ice pack that is part of the bento box keeping her food cold for hours. This Bentgo box is also great & comes in fun designs. This Yumbox is on the smaller side, but still a great option!
+ ice packs for her lunch boxes
+ I got this set to make lunch more fun! I can make her uncrustables in fun shapes & there are also small cutters for fruits & veggies!
+ water bottles- I have a yeti that keeps her drink cold for hours & as long as the spout is closed it doesn’t leak. I like that the straw is hard plastic so she has nothing to chew on!
+ sneakers- Mackenzie’s foot is growing she she’s gotten a few new pairs of shoes, but these are by far my favorite sneaker. It’s important for me to have a good sneaker to send her to school in because sandals & open toed shoes are just not a good option for school.
+ rain boots- I love her Ten Little rain boots & you’ll want a pair for those rainy school days (make sure you send a pair of sneakers in their backpack to change into when they get to school!)
+ clothing- I ordered a ton of Cat & Jack clothing from target since it was very inexpensive so I don’t care if she gets dirty & stains her clothing at school (I want her to get messy!)
+ labels- We ordered Name Bubbles to put on her clothing & also other things like her lunch boxes & water bottles. So far they are sticking & I’ll keep you updated if they last throughout the year!
+ wet/dry bag for extra clothing in her backpack– I’m going to keep a change of clothes in a wet dry bag in her backpack in case she gets wet or dirty and needs a change of clothes. Having this wet/dry bag in their backpack will also give teachers a place to put dirty/wet clothes.
