My Top Must Haves For Toddler Motion Sickness
We have been dealing with our toddler & car sickness for a while now and I finally feel like we are in a much better spot. Every time we would drive to Vermont, she would wake out of a deep sleep & get sick. I felt awful for her & had to figure out a way to make these car rides better for her. We did switch her to forward facing just after she turned three, even though I really wanted to keep her rear facing until she maxed out her car seats rear facing requirements, but ultimately I think her riding forward facing helped a lot.
These are my must haves when traveling long distances in the car:
Kids Nausea Seabands– I put these on our toddler every time our car ride is longer than an hour. I can’t say these actually work, but she hasn’t gotten sick since she started wearing them.
Kids Dramamine– We haven’t needed to use this yet, but I like having this on hand JUST in case we need it. I do have a friend who’s daughter also gets major motion sickness & she used this & it definitely helped.
Puke Bags– This might be a must have even if you don’t have a child that gets motion sick. I have these in multiple places in our house in case someone gets sick. We went through a week where we needed these in our toddler’s bedroom every night & I was so thankful I had them. These are super helpful in the car & have prevented us from having to wash her car seat a number of times (as long as we’re quick enough!)
Hope this helps if you have a little one that gets motion sick!
