How I Tame My Toddler’s Curly Hair

Do you have a toddler with curly, frizzy, hard to tame hair? It’s taken a few months, but I’ve finally figured out how to somewhat manage her curls. Below is everything I’ve been using on her hair for the last few months: SoCozy Kids Curl Leave in Conditioner– this stuff is great! Doesn’t leave her hair hard or crunchy & has a nice (not overwhelming) scent. Spray bottle for water– I filled this with water to use when her hair is dry Comb– This comes with a brush & comb. When her hair was straighter I would use the brush, but now I ONLY use the comb. This comb is…

Travel Guide: Family Trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Where We Stayed I will be the first to admit I did very little research before this trip. I looked into a few hotels & let my husbands family take the reigns on the rest of the planning and pick what they wanted to once we were there. We ended up booking the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort. It was perfect for our family trip! Multiple pools, mostly kid friendly & we had access to the beach which was awesome. We didn’t have a separate room to put Mackenzie’s crib in like we did when we stayed at the JW Marriot in Orlando, but the room was PLENTY big for…

My Favorite Straw Cups for Toddlers

We have all of these cups & have been using them for a while now so I feel like I can give my honest opinion on all of them. We began using straw cups when we started solids so that we could provide water while she ate. I also found that since she was using them so often we had ZERO issues when it came time at 12 months to completely drop bottles! This was one of our first straw cups Mackenzie used! We’ve only ever used it for water & it’s worked out great. I’ve never had any issues with it leaking and she can drop it without it…

The Importance of a Bedtime Routine for My Toddler

Kids thrive on routine, so it’s no surprise that a bedtime routine would be super helpful. We have been implementing some form of a bedtime routine since Mackenzie was just a couple of months old. It has changed over time, but there has always been a routine in place. When she was just a few months old her routine looked like this: bath time, overnight diaper, pjs, swaddle, feeding, read a book, & put her down. Then it changed to this routine around 5 months old when we began sleep training: bath time (every other night), overnight diaper, pjs, sleep sack, read a book, & put her down. Currently her…

14 Tips for Traveling with a Toddler on a Plane

We just took our third trip with Mackenzie, but this was the first since she’s been super mobile so we knew it would be tougher to keep her in her seat. We definitely had a lot to travel with, but somehow we made it work! Below I’m sharing all my tips to make traveling with a toddler hopefully just a little bit easier: Flying with kids is all about survival mode in my opinion. Whatever keeps them happy, as long as they are still being respectful of other travelers around you. This doesn’t mean crying because I’m sorry all kids cry & have meltdowns. It’s very different flying with a…

How We Created A Purposeful Play Area for Our Toddler

We don’t have a designated playroom on the main floor of our house, so we created a section of our dining room (which rarely gets used) for Mackenzie’s toys. When she was a baby we just had out a plush floor mat with toys, but as she got older I could see all of her stuff slowly taking over the rest of our dining room. I wanted to create a more purposeful place for her to play. Since she’s not a baby anymore we don’t necessarily need a big floor mat for her to play on. I like that she now has a table she can play at! Below is…
