Tips for Traveling With Your Little One For the Holidays
Whether you’re traveling with your newborn or toddler for the holidays, I’ve got some helpful tips and check lists to make sure you don’t forget anything important!
My favorite way to pack for myself or Mackenzie is to use packing cubes. It helps me feel organized since I feel like I have to travel with so much. For a car trip I like to pack her stuff in her LL Bean Tote, but for air travel we’ve used our medium sized Away suitcase. For her formula or now her snacks and other food related items, I like to use this cooler bag.
I’ll start with newborns. It may feel like you need pack up your entire home just to go on a quick errand, so packing to go for a day or overnight trip for the holidays may feel DAUNTING ( I know this because I’ve been there!). I’m here to help you not feel overwhelmed. I’ve created a checklist that’s broken down by sections so you can pack easily for your holiday travels. Also, since I’m not currently in the newborn phase I reached out to my best friend who is so I wouldn’t forget anything!
I like this portable drying rack & brush for when we travel. I also like this formula dispenser when we are away for just the day or a few days. Lastly, this is a great portable sound machine!
Now, if your traveling with a toddler I’ve also put together a checklist so you can pack easily. I definitely don’t feel like I need as much stuff, but I still feel like I have to pack a ton, even for just an overnight trip!
This is a great travel fork & spoon that I like to keep in my diaper bag. This is a portable chair that I like to keep in my car and it works great for travel because it’s small. We can’t travel without our Slumberpod!
One of the most important things to remember when traveling is trying to recreate their sleep environment where ever you are. It really will help your little one sleep better while away from home.
What’s one thing you’ve forgotten when traveling with your little one? I forgot her formula once and had to run to a drug store to get some!
Hope these lists help for your holiday travels! They can also be used any time you’re traveling. You can find my packing guide for traveling with an 11 month old here.
