Great Christmas and Winter Books for Babies and Toddlers
It’s December which means Christmas is almost here and so is the Winter season, so I’ve linked some books for both Christmas time & Winter to read with your little one! Where is Baby’s Christmas Present– Great lift-the-flap book! Where’s Santa Clause? – I love felt lift-the-flap books! They don’t rip like a traditional lift-the-flap book which is great for young kiddos! Babies Love Christmas– Another great lift-the-flap book, which simple words and pictures on each page! You’re My Little Christmas Cookie– we have this one for Hanukkah too & its very cute! Construction Site: Merry and Bright– As a preschool teacher I loved all the Construction Site series, so…

Brand Highlight: Why I Love Puffworks
I actually have to thank my cousin Amy for telling me about Puffworks. She has a song who is 4 months older than Mackenzie, so she was always a few months ahead of us! When we started solids, Amy told me about Puffworks and how great they were for introducing the peanut allergy to your 6 month old. We had actually already introduced the peanut allergen to Mackenzie by thinning out peanut butter and seeing if she had a reaction. Once she was ready for something more ‘solid’ I introduced the Peanut Butter Puffworks Baby to her. She absolutely LOVED them! What I loved is that they were crunchy, but…

Activities to do with Your Child During A Global Pandemic
These are the three activities I’ve found for Mackenzie and felt safe doing during the pandemic. I really wanted to get her around other children and since she’s not in daycare I wanted to find some classes where she could spend some time with other children. + Music class was our first class and we started out on Zoom, but when it was nice enough outside, we began outdoor classes and felt safe doing this! Mackenzie loves music so she enjoyed music class and I look forward to starting them again soon! I love that Music Together is a worldwide program so you can look for a program in your…

Non Screen Time Activities to do with Your Toddler
I can speak for myself when I say I need to do a better job of incorporating non-screen time activities into our day! When I feel tired or have a headache, its just so easy to turn on Coco Melon and let her watch it! I want to build a list of activities I can do with her instead of putting on Coco Melon and figured I’d share my ideas with you below: + While I think Mackenzie is too young for a tonies box right now, I do think it’s a great activity to incorporate music & stories into your child’s day without putting on a screen for them!…

My Experience with Infant Aquatics CT- Survival Swimming for Infants and Children
Mackenzie just completed survival swim at Infant Aquatics CT! I’m so incredibly proud of her and all the hard work she’s put in these last four and a half weeks. I’d be lying though if I said it was easy for me, but I’ll get into that a little later. I don’t normally show pictures of Mackenzie’s face, but I think this post is that important and wanted to share videos of all the hard work our little kiddos put in to learn this life saving skill! In this post I’m going to cover what we experienced while in the program, my personal feelings on it, & next steps for…

These are the three meds I used during those first four months with Mackenzie and I found them so helpful to have at home! I also carried around them in my diaper bag incase we were out and needed them! **Always consult your pediatrician when giving your little one any type of medicine, but these are the three that worked wonders for us during the newborn stage! Gripe…

Tips for Traveling with an 11 Month Old
We just took our first trip to Orlando with our daughter Mackenzie (11 months old), which also was her first time on an airplane. We stayed at the JW Marriott Grand Lakes and made sure to book a suite, so we had a room where we could put Mackenzie down for naps and bedtime and we could stay up, watch tv, and chat (and not go to bed at 7pm). TIP #1: If possible, book a suite when staying in a hotel and you won’t have to go to bed at the same time as your kid! Also, staying at this big chain hotel was helpful because they were able…

Setting Up My Daughter’s Play Area For Successful Play
One day I looked at over at my daughter’s play area on the main floor and became extremely overwhelmed. I’m only sharing this picture with you because it’s reality. Yes, I’m even embarrassed it got to this point, but it did and now I’m determined to fix it! I realized that in her short little life we have acquired MANY toys, most of which I think are amazing, but as you can see it’s just too much all at once! This got me thinking that I needed to reorganize this in a way so Mackenzie could have more successful interactions with her toys instead of not being interested in them…
